I read about Howard Dill's 3 measurement method of estimating a pumpkins wgt., but it doesn't make sense to me. I have a pumpkin that is 76" in circumfrence (measured paralel to the ground), 52" over the top measurement and 57" over the top measurement stem end to blosm end. If you and all those measurements up it = 180" x 1.9 = 351 lbs. I don't think that is correct. Could someone please straiten me out? Thank you

There's an Excel spreadsheet with a conversion table in it, not sure where the 1.9 is from? Anyways, I looked it up and 180" in total OTT translates to about 130 lbs... I can e-mail you a copy of it if you like.

the 1.9 was a system that was put into the first how-to book, but the thing is that it only worked (those estimations at the time) for a pumpkin that weighed 600 pounds. len stellpflug knows the whole story, but anyway, it's a lot more complicated than just a 1.9
