As I am coming to the final weeks before an early fair, two questions: 1. Would you take the shading off to warm it up and to darken the orange color, or would you keep it on to the end? 2. I read about disinfecting the pumpkin with water/bleach in the last weeks----Is that common? How often? How much bleach?

1 unit bleach to 10 units water...good way to disinfect and clean off any chemicals from your pumpkin. I think it's common.

I have a fair the 27th of August, what is the day we need to let the skin be exposed to the sun? Or do we really?

The sun will orange them up..You might also try a nice little olive oil massage. Do not do this for a GPC weigh OFF your pumpkin will be DQ.
