An informal five patch tour will begin at eleven AM on Sunday August 22, 2004. Anyone within range of Williamsport, Pa. may attend. There is no charge but a free will offering basket will be at the weenie roast where the tour ends.
...Five patches less than ten miles over all apart will be shown. This is everything from a jungle plant with a nice fruit, a father son patch with five plants, a neighbor and sixteen year old young lady with a real nice one and three other plants, an excellent gardener's whole garden and three plants all of which are remarkable and docgipes home and grounds that may have a dandy or two to brag on.
...The tour is low key meet and get to know the grower. Enjoy and make a couple of new friends. Pick up the secrets of five growers who run healthy patches with little or no synthetics in the ground.
...No absolute promises but a couple of our noted Pennsylvania heavy hitters may show up to chat enroute and at the final stop weenie roast.
...This is a function of the Willamsport Area Giant Pumpkin Growers who are are all members of the Pennsylvania Giant Pumpkin Growers Association.
...Please Email docgipe for a map, and to the assembly point for this tour. A one page guide will introduce you to the patch and the growers. The tour will move promptly at eleven AM. Late arrivers will be shot. Any foreign seed will be heisted and put to good use, in memory of the late arrivers.
