In the last few three years my season for growing Big Pumkins came to a sudden end by what i now no was vine borers. Last night while out in the garden while sitting admiring this years progress i noticed on the underside of the leaves as well as one top side a group of 20-30 little tiny eggs clumped togeter.....on about 4-5 leaves...AHHH THOSE MUST BE THE LITTLE B#s*tards. I removed everylast one short of a microscope and sprayed the entire garden with SEVIN. My question is whas it them????????????????and should I spray more or do something else??.My biggest pumpkin is the size of an extremely large grapefruit and growing rapidly...I don't wanna looose it now....any help wood be appreciated...Ontario, Canada

Do you have a picture of them? I had a huge problem with aphids early in my season, and to some extent, now as well (see the photo in my diary: http://www.bigpumpkins.com/Diary/DiaryViewOne.asp?eid=23450). If you have aphids, they'll ruin your leaves / plants, too. So far, I haven't had the notorious SVB's yet, and will be knocking on wood until my knuckles are full of splinters.

My guess...stink bugs...can be removed with the sticky side of piece of tape...just press on and remove the whole batch at once.
