Is it just me or is anyone else having trouble with lengthwise stem splits 2 out of my 5 fruits have developed major splits in the stems. I packed them with captan, hope that helps them heal and dry. I think the one on the 1097 Beachy may go all the way thru from top to bottom. It seems they just started to split after the cool weather ended the day before yesterday. Its always somthing!

Same here. Especially the 845 Bobier cutting on which about half of all secondary vines are gaping wide open. But I just bury them & ignore it. That plant has a serious attitude & just doesn't seem to care.

The stem split on our "chosen one" does concern me darn it!

I have finished with several pumpkins in the 600's that had stem splits so bad you could stick all your fingers at the same time through the gaps(and more than 1 per stem). They will continue to grow unless they split into the cavity!

Ya my 620 Boyton plant is bad for this.

about 5 ft out from the stump the entire main vine which is out over 20 ft now has little tiny cracks lenghtwise every couple of feet but has since seemed to bark over.

ive got a female ready to open ( tomouro ) at the end of
this main vine and i was kinda worried about the cracks.

but I think i'm just going to burry them and hide them so i dont see them and just pollinate it and hope for the best
