On my Welty VWO plant, I have a pumpkin growing 10' out on a skinny sidevine. It is my largest pumpkin on the plant and today (day 20) taped in at 40 inches circumference.
I have another pumpkin that is about cantelope sized 14' out on the main that is 7 days old.
Looking at the big one makes me cringe... should I cull the bigger to stimulate the younger one on the main, or keep the bigger one on the side vine and make it the main fruit? (its kind of hard to cut off a big healthy fruit)
What would you do in this case?
(Note: I live in an area that doesn't see frost until November, so I could weigh my plant for the VWO much later than others, provided it continues to grow. You have to wonder if it will, though.)
I appreciate your input! :-D

dont even think twice about it mr.sprout
if the main pollination is healthy and growing well once it gets to the size of a basketball id ax the side pumpkin
side fines are not going to give you the maximum results
