i have tons of thousands of aphids on the undersides of the leaves on my 620 boyton...what should i use to get rid of them?

Tonight? If nothing else, rinse them with a teaspoon of dishwashing detergent in a gallon of water. Then rinse with plain water. Unless you have a real-deal insecticide handy. In which case, use it at lower rates instead. Aphids are easy, but you need to act fast to avoid the transference of disease.

Yeah they also crap on the plant which turns to sooty mould, little black spots, which in turn ruins the leaves.

I've been battling aphids for a few weeks now, and I can't find anything to stop them. I've been brushing them off with a barbeque brush and then spraying with some detergent based insecticide. Not working. One good thing is once the aphids are knocked off the leaves, they can't get back on them, that is, until new ones are born on the leaves again. I've lost 4-5 leaves to them so far.

Aphids are just starting in my patch. I am trying Pyola (available from Gardens Alive). I did not use an early season systemic, so I'll see how this works. On the other hand, I am not sure a good stream of water isn't just as effective. Have fun.
