Hey - I've seen reference to Cinderella in my post below. I did a google search and couldn't find any photos. Anyone have a good link so I can see what they look like? thanks!

Also called Rogue Vif'Detamp (sp?) they originated in France and are so named because they were used as design for Cinderella's coach. They turn a beautiful (almost mahogany color), that always has people stopping by to ask if they're real. They are excellent for cooking, and I'm told are #1 pie pumpkin in Europe! All the big seed catalogs should have a photo!

I have grown them for four years. The trick is that since they are cheese shaped they tend to fall over on their stem, which then makes it easier for the stem to rot since it is touching the ground. Put them on some styrofoam to get them off the ground. They do make great pies as kilr has mentioned. Johnneys seeds carries them also....Tom

wow thanks for that tip Tom... I just pollinated one the other morning (to get a pure cross for next year's seeds, without the bees interferring) and I will be sure to put foam under it just like my AG's.

I have planted them in my upper patch for the first time, albeit late like everything else...pumpkins for Xmas? In addition to the foam underneath I rip up an old sheet and lay it over the fruit to keep them from sunburning (always a problem here)
