One of my AG's has grown to the size of a Soft Ball and has just stopped growing. What is up with that? It remains hard so I think it was pollinatated? The Temps have been middle 80s.

It happens all the time. Fruit sets can abort when they are large as basketballs....it's just part of the game.

When one aborts, does it not get soft? This fruit is not soft. It is small and hard with no growth for 7+ days.

Had one sitting on the vine over 1 week w/o showing any signs of aborting about softball size, just didn't grow! Knew it was a gonna when the next one doubled in size just a foot down the vine! Keep an eye out. Best of luck, Duff

Agreed. They can park for quite a while before going south. I don't ever remembering a fruit that stalled & started back up again. To be sure, use a tape measure regularly when evaluating fruit for "culling or keeping".

Duff, you are correct my friend! I have two growing on the same plant, pollintated at the same time. One has stopped growing the other is 5 times bigger. I will wait till she goes south though, before I cut her lose. What would I do without you guys to drive me in right direction, you are great.

Cheese,I also Had one the same way, at first I really thought it wasnt pollinated and it was going to abort, The first 7 days after pollination it was really dull looking, I was going to cull it off but forgot about it, well, Lucky i did forget about it because it just started to grow like day before yesterday, Never know about these plants.

I just did the same thing today. I had one growing great and it stopped after 10 days. Was not as shiny as it was and just plain did not grow in 2 or 3 days. Out came the knife and took it off.
You did the right thing!!
