I purchased some Miller Chelated Calcium. The dosage is 1/2 t0 1 pound per acre. I converted this to about 2.6 teaspoons per 1000 sq.ft. Does this sound reasonable and what is the best way to apply it? Thanks, Charlie

Go easy I had the Miller burn my fruit last year. Try it on a small area first and see how it does. Steve

Charlie,
Is this a liquid material? If so, most Calciumn Liquids weigh 11.9 Lbs per gallon. So their rate would imply to use only 10.75 fluid ounces per acre. This sounds light.
The rate for the Material we sell (Nutri-Cal & Green-Flo depending on region) is as high as 2-3 oz per gallon. BUT...
If they're referring to the rate of application as elemental Calcium (likely), then if it's 5% CA (also likely), then to deliver 1 lb per acre would require .6 gallons per acre or 1.76 ounces per 1000 sq ft.
This latter conversion sounds more plausible. But let's make sure since we get onky one season per year. To do this we need a copy of the specimen label.
I can't find a specimen lable for the Miller material you have. Can you see a wesite url on the label?
If not, how's about the name & address of the manufacturer?
As a last resort, can you copy the Percent Nutrients & the "nutrients derived from" statement into this thread?
Sometimes an EPA registration number will yield the specimen label too.
