Just wondering how everyone is doing in terms of weight gained per day. Seems I am doing an average of 5 lbs. a day with a 20-25 day old pumpkin. I just used the chart to guess the weight and it is 50lbs. I am new at this….so is it to soon to expect mass growth? How could I get more poundage per day? I have some M. Potash. I have sprinkled it sparingly...about 1/2 cup for 4 plants. I don't really know what to expect. I have slow release fertilizer that is called Marine cuisine a 10-7-7. I add this about every 2 weeks just around the plant and till it in. I have added Magnesium plus fish E. & seaweed foliar spray, I am waiting on some Calcium N. Plants look great, but I am inpatient. Is 50lbs good for this many days? Doeski

honestlt, 5 lbs a day isn't a large amount of growth. Pumpkins usually take off around day 20 to 25 and growth amounts vary due to many aspects (soil, grower experience, seed, weather, etc). If your going for a really big pumpkin, you need 20 plus pounds a day for a couple weeks. Don't ever till any fertilizer in your soil by your plant at this point, you will cause major root damage and stress your plant out. The best advice I can give you is to make sure your soil is prepped good before even planting, soil test, manure, compost, and anything your test reveals you need. If this is done properly, you should get good growth when the pumpkin is growing. Best wishes, Jimmy
