I have 2 odd problems. I've picked some pumpkins off my vines and brought them in. One was orange and now it's turning green again. It looks like it did a couple weeks before I picked it. The green pattern on it is almost Identical to what the green pattern was like as it was ripening. It's almost as if it's ripening in reverse now.
Why is my pumpkin doing that nad is it normal?
The other thing is I want to store the seeds of a pumpkin I harvested. The alst tiem I tried it, I got mold all over the seeds. I've dried the seeds in my food drier like I did last year. adn alst year I had no problems with mold. Is there anything I can put on the seeds from my kitchen that will ward off mold?

Some will turn green from stress, Lumina's are really known for being a beautiful white then turning blue/green.
As far as the seeds put them in a colander in the sink wash them well, Rinse, and rinse once more. Spread them out on a newspaper or sweater drying rack. Place a fan on them for a week and when the skins start falling off they are ready.
Add a little bleach like 1/8 cup to a gallon of water in one of your rinses if you like.

Stress? really? How do you stress out a pumpkin? I'm not really trying to be funny. I just don't understand.

kilohoku, maybe you should give a bit more information about the pumpkins you "harvested" so far. What do you expect from a fruit at this time of the season? Did you already had something around 200 lbs or what? You will not get anything at all - at least some valid seeds - from a small cull that many growers have every day that time of the season.

I got about a dozen ten-pound pumppkins. that was my goal this year. It was my first try, so I'm pretty proud of myself. Perhaps you might exersize a bit more tact in your verbage.
