Last years seed from my 400 seem to have a thick shell..They eventually sprout,,but takes time..I have also run into this recently on my 517 as well..Right off hand,,I cant recall number of days the fruit was,,but it was very close to 60..The shell seems awfully hard/thick..My question is this..Does the heat have an impact on the thickness and hardness of the seed? It has taken almost 10 days for 2 seed I started to bust the ground..I took the tips and some of the shell off to germinate them..Put on the hot water heater,,,no sprout with in the first 5 days,,did notice swelling..So I putthem in ground last wekend ad finally yesterday they were poking thru the soil..Why so hard to germinate?Thickness of the shells?? And also, why are the shells so thick?
