Should you keep the sun off of a freshly pollinated pumpkin with a bord for a sun block or something.
Also, are there any other bonus's to closeing/tieing the flower up after pollination aside from keeping the bee's out?

I haven't this year or any other, maybe that is one of my problems ? Realy, don't know.
I try to shade them when they start to get to a size I want to keep but then again my P-B is only 420 ( est. UOW.)
Every year learn some thing new, and yes it seems like forever but then the years start runing together and yuh aint got time fer nuthin.

WAIT TIL NEXT YEAR

So. Maine

With the amount of sun we've had this month I would welcome as much sun as possible on the pumpkin BUT if the temps. would be 90 or above (something WE have not seen reciently) than shade & cooling would be suggested.
Is Spence on track to beat last years weight ???????????

I am a little behind in my pollination date but then again I probely will not have much vine borer action this year and the pumpkin is at a better spot on the vine. I will e-mail you on around day 10 to 20.
