I used Admire 2F this year on my giants and also the old Isotox. A few days ago some leaves near the "stump" started to turn a lighter shade of green then yellow. I drenched the area with more fish/seaweed and on the lighter side of 20-20-20.
I just dug out three SVB near the stump on one. But now, all four plants are showing the same symptoms.
Should I throw in the towel for this year again? What about cutting the main past the leading lighter shaded leaf?

Bantam, The product you need to stop SVB's is Warrior-T. It stops them dead in their tracks. You can find it at Lowe's or other garden centers under the name of Triazicide. The active ingredient is Lambda Cyhalothrin. You will need to mix Triazicideat 5 times of the recommended rate to get it strong enough for SVB but it will not hurt your plants. You may need to inject a solution inside the infected areas of the vines since the borers are already inside.
Hope this helps,

Admire would last about 90 days. If it's longer than that since the first treat, this is likely why.
Never throw in the towel. Throw in a syringe full of a fast acting synthetic pyrethroid as Brad suggested. Permethrin, Cyfluthrin, or Lambda-cyhalothrin are all quick.
