I know that leaves take a big part in how your pumpkin grows, but my question is this, Will only the leaves that are before your pumpkin help it grow better? The reason Im asking is because I have alot more leaves past my pumpkin now, the leaves before my pumpkin ether got hit by wind or just died off( Not due to and disease). Thanks, Brooks

Good question Brooks. One that is likely to ignite a fire storm of strongly held opinions in the offseason.
I say that the 6-10' after the fruit does backfeed toward the sink (fruit). Others will disagree.
Joe Ailts is (was?) going to do some dye experiments to try to better determine to what extent this happens.
Injection of radioactive isotopes have been back traced in other cucurbita sp.
