Martin, that looks like Bolbitius, a sort of mushroom that probably came in with your manure. I had the same last season. They didn´t harm my plants even when they left their ugly black spores around. You can look at my 2003 diary to identify it.

Not a problem. Just a sign of a healthy organic rich soil adjusting itself naturally to the existiong eco-system.

Thanks for the comments!

I'm really feeling better now! Maybe it is even a sign of very rich soil, high in OM, just like Steve mentioned it.

And Ingo, it is sure possible that it got into my patch with the manure. Looks pretty equal to what you had last year...

Thanks again and best wishes,
Martin

Are them the mushrooms that the drug heads eat that make them see things? I have heard that people would go lift up cow patties looking for that kind of mushroom. I have heard inmates talk about eating mushrooms, they say its kinda like acid. Just curious if thats the mushroom in your picture, anyone know?

Those aren't the ones. We used to find those where the Larches met the Birches & Beech moving upland from streams. No manure was ever found anywhere nearby.
