We lost a few larger leaves & had a secondary vine turned over.

But I'll take this ocer the 13 inches of rain that broke several dams in southern New Jersey last night.

Lightning around us but no rain just yet. They say damaging winds and maybe hail tonight. Went out to tie down all vines.

Tornado's missed me but got smacked with quarter size hail, shredded 70% of the leaves, don't have to terminate the mains now hail did it for me. and to top it all off I have to rake all the maple leaves that were torn off and it is only July.

Dang Gene! I wasnt aware you guys had storms. The weather here has been nice the last week, maybe that will drift east in a few days. We are getting about 26 mph winds, so that should be blowing your way. Nothing the plants cant handle....and its sunny. Hope is on its way you guys out east!

damn gene,
that storm freaked me out but missed joliet.
all i can say is that sucks. i got hit 3 times last
year but not as bad as you. i had holes in every leaf,
but still retained about 80 percent of each leaf.
mine was a short outburst with large hail.
damn that sucks. hope the plants recover, and check
all mains and secondaries for small cracks or indentations
from hail stones hitting them direct. i through captan
on these direct shots and most healed nicely.
maybe let future pop up tertiaries or secondaries grow
a little and get as many new leaves as possible still.
sorry again brother,
jeff

I could write the book of hail where I am at in colorado, as we have had so much the last 2 years that I can not count on all of my fingers even if I had 10 x 2 fingers to count on...the last few years have been crazy....With more to come tomorrow...What fun the challenge is !!
