Due to the season, I would go ahead and do it. Many growers wait untill they get alittle longer 12 to 15 feet or more. Do the same for the others just incase that one doesn't take, and decide which one you want to keep.

Whats the reason for waiting till the fruit is out 12-15 ft ? I always wondered why, Youd think a fruit closer to the stump on the main vine would grow the best.. I donno i'm just a first year grower myself.
Dave
P.S I just pollinated my first fruit this mourning on the 620 Boyton, at 6.30 am this mourning at 10 ft out on the main vine, what a sight it is watching a flower open.
shes now tied closed and covered :-).. Hopefully she takes

You ever smell them flowers? They smell like lilac flowers. I always thought it would give the plant more time to get settled and rooted better for when the pumpkin comes. I did one on a ten,(Expiemental plant) but it's not growing as fast as the others with larger plants. Maybe I'm wrong, I don't know for sure.
Good luck on that pumpkin DaveM.

I've set hundreds of Big Max inside 10 feet. Grow well & have FUN!
