Please check out my diary and comment...Can this pumpkin be saved? I have been working slowly to move it to a better postion. but it just doesn't seem like It'll ever get there. It was pollinated on June 24 and is the only confirmed succefull pollination on the berard. I guess I could see how things go and if this is still the best, cut off the main just after the pumpkin. Any other options? Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Chris,

We're growing soft ftem fruits here. Just go easy.

That stem looks better than the one that just aborted on me here. You can turn it slowly using styrofoam blocks if you must. We turned one on your 300 last year at the school that was also much worse & I did it without foam. Used a gentle twisting action & some soil beneath our pulp mill fabric to cause a slight rolling action. That worked out well since the fruit was a wheel.

I agree with Tremor, you can save it.

I'm with Gordon... GO UTES!

That one looks fine to me, nice long stem... Move it
just a "millimeter" every day (or maybe every few days)
during the heat... it'll be fine. Never move it too much
at any one time, of course.

Perhaps wait till it is a little larger and it will be easier to position.
