Calling out Steveman. Steve, I would like to offer up a little challenge to you, something to help keep you motivated and focused on producing a giant pumpkin even though you had a late start. On July 4th I had 10 of my 120 Seeds germinate. These are 139.8 Frantz (big max) x 922.5 Emmons. One of these I will squeeze into my home patch and I would like to race this plant against yours! Are you up to it? Can you with a head start and killer line up beat me and my 1/2 Big Max 1/2 AG plant? I challenge you!!!! Is there anyone else out there who had to re-plant or had a late start that would like to join the Steveman challenge? A little competition goes a long way to get one motivated..... Mike Frantz

I have already notified Steve of the AG plant at my grandma's house that I planted there less than a week ago. I will be doing a lot of the care for this plant, so I am in on the "late" contest. :-)

I have a 777 Troy transplanted 10 days ago - not much bigger than a 5 gallon bucket right now. So I guess I'm in on the challenge also.

What about a guy who's plant was just thrashed by hail? I bet the overall plant mass of it is now pretty small. Do I qualify?
LOL!!!

Steveman, hope you are ready for the challenge facing you today, Thursday the 8th of july here in colorado, as your plants are going to cook big-time..high 90s...then another hail , then a cold snap , then high 90s again.. Then wait 5 weeks a good freeze, then 90s again with another hail storm. Growing here is no cakewalk..such is life in Colorado...Get used to it..

Me season has gone way south too. I decided to plant two 208 Littles on June 30 (germinated June 24th). They are 1/4 big max.
Mind if I join the competition?

Hey wow.... I am very surprised to see this much interest. Steve, I would be ok with a little wager or charge to get into the contest. Here is an idea, Steve why dont you organise this thing? I know you have the time and interest to do well with it. You need to somehow set the standard of who qualifies for the "STEVEMAN CHALLENGE". An example might be anyone whos plant has a main vine of 2' or less. Just something quick off the top of my head. Let me know if your willing to organize this steve.... Hell we even have a heavy hitter BEACHY who wants to play!

I have a 598 Baranie that is gowing in a two square foot "Grow Box". I planted it very late. The main vine is about 18" or so right now.
