can anyone tell a first time grower, and pollinator,if the segments in the female stay in the same position after pollination ? thanks GP

that's a good question. and the answer, i don't know! i'm thinking the reason you want to know is that maybe you pollinated each segment with a different male, and you want to know how each one performes, so you want to keep track. or maybe i'm wrong! but in any case, maybe you could mark on the pumpkin maybe with a magic marker or something. i dont' think it would hurt the pumpkin, and it might help you keep track, scott

thanks for the feed back. i was just wondering if any activity occurs after pollination to the lobes.the female that we pollinated stayed open a good part of the day. no bees anywhere. the form of the lobes seemed to swell some through the day. she has since closed up and doubled in size. guess it doesnt matter. long as it grows. gp
