I pollinated the first fruit on the 756 ford around 12 feet and all looked well. Durring a sunny hot day, the fruit tripled in size but now has little cracks in the tiny indentations which will be the ribs. I was just wondering if they ( the cracks) will effect the further developement of the fruit? Will the pumpkin be more susceptable to crack further down the road? Thanks. Douglas

It sounds like it may be growing too fast. I know it sounds like a strange problem, but pumpkins can literally "blow up" when they're growing too fast. I would suggest staying away from the fertiler for a week or 2.
