About 8 of my leaves on my main vine was bent over because of a storm we just had a hour ago, the leaves(Stem) arnt broke just bent, they wont stay up by them selves, they want to fall to one side. I had to use my hunting arrows and place them behind the stem to hold them up. My question is will my stems harden back up, or will they always be weak and need to be held up all the time now? I was able to pack some dirt around a few and they stood back up fine. This ever happen to anyone? Brooks

I have had a few break or bend . I never tried to brace them up. I really dont think they will harden back up and support their own weight. They may be replaced by a few more leaves and them you can remove them..

Leave'em be, they will raise back up & harden up. It's just like field corn, you drive by after a real bad storm & the corn looks flat...drive by a week later the corn is back up with a slight kink at the bottom.

i see them bend, i leave be and they straighten on their own (even in an hour, its amazing).
our storm caused BREAKING to where they were hanging on my a string. people told me to put dirt around them to hold them up blah blah blah; didnt work. all that 'supporting them' is foo foo. all the dirt in the world wouldnt have saved these puppies. they layed flat and got brownish / light green yucky looking. they were a lost cause so i did what buddy g just said and removed them.

yea, but these leaves where laying down flat as a pancake, lol, I already put the arrows behind the leaves, iF they dont harden ill leave em there till i grow some more to replace the ones that where bent, I just hate the fact that i wont have any main vine leaves, they where my biggest ones. It looked like a mini twister went right down the center of it, my other two plants right next to this plant didnt have one leaf bent. WEIRD HUH?
