my backvine wich i curved runs paralel with my main about 10ft over. it is at 11ft i set a fruit at 8ft.should i continue to let this vine grow or prune & bury it.this is my first year.can i grow 2 fruits on this plant and get good weight results or should i stick to 1 on my main vine. do i let my back vine fruit go at least to see if its more aggressive than my main fruit.thanks for your help!

quite the feat to turn that sucker around and run it beside the true main........I am growing a 735 Pukos with two mains set about 60 degrees apart...I did this because the one secondary was growing equal to the true main.....I believe this is called the wishbone style and Daletas managed a 1230 and 1016 off a plant pruned like this.....either way one looks at it just about all the growth will be behind both pumpkins

My 580 Weir "primary" main is running parallel with the "rear" main, but they're relatively close. The 580 was headed the wrong direction initially so I had to turn it 180 degrees so this style for me is completely by accident. I'm also growing 1 set pumpkin on each to see how it works.

I grew my 577.5 on the primary main and grew the 511 on the rear main. I was originally keeping the second fruit on the rear main as a shock absorber and ended up being too chicken to terminate it earlier. Glad I didn't and ended up with 2 over 500 lbs each. If you are new at this game, I would keep 2 on the plant for now.
