Hi, Quick question- I have a female at around 8' and one at around 10'. I want to set the 8' one because it has a nice long stem and really great color. I was also planning on pollinating the 10' female because it is at a better place on the vine and good color. My question is, if I set the 8' female will it affect the chances that the 10' female does not set. S-Pope

no the second pumpkin will quite possibly grow slower if the first one is doing its job and sucking the juice however, if the second polination grows quicker than the fisrt on that main the you should keep the faster one
polination should not be effected by the first fruit if its a real hot muggy day we always put a small fan blowing on our new polinations to help keep them cool
heat can and will cause polinations to abort
