still dont have any large ones. one has grown from golfball to softball in 3 days,also has been over 105 heat index for 6 days. is this to hot for good growth? when is end of golden time for central kansas? i looked back to last year and already had some basketball size, hope there is still lots of time. thanks for any advice.

HI Only thing I can suggest is that you set up a misting system to keep the pumpkins cool during the heat of the day. Just a hose with a fine mist coming from the nozzle will work. Spray it into the air to cool down the air above the plants and not directly on the plants

That kind of heat is not good for growth. The plant is under stress and just trying to stay alive. I think Water is right with the misting idea. Create a micro-climate around your plant.
