I have another fruti on the 735..Its taping 204" yesterday..I looked it over this morning, and think I have found a major problem..HArd to explain,,butI'll try..I will definetly put insight to new growers as to why to not pollinate fruit close to the stump..
Here goes..This fruit pollinated on stump side of plant. As you know,517 vine rotted in half..517 got the end with just 2 secondaries,,so I figured let this new fruit go...Some how a secondarie,,or trietary rooted itself down and the fruit happened to be on one of its secondaries,,possibly a quadatarty?...Where the vine rooted itself down,,it has made a mini stump,,about 5-6" cir,,and the fruit is less than 2-3 ft away away from stump..It has alot of tension on the stem of the fruit..I'm not expecting another 517,,just wanted to see what else 735 had in store for me..Way I see it,,if vine hadnt rotted,,then the #'s would have went to the 517..Am I right?Thats not all the fruit itr has set since, have culled 2 that probably weighed 25-40 lbs each,,and it continues to set fruit....

Oh yea,,the stem of the fruit was leaking where the fruit and stem meet..I've sen before,,but not under these contions..Would it be gummy stem blight,,or is it the stem being torn loose? Fruit has been getting about 5" total a day..

Jeff - looks like that is what is left of a male flower coming out of the stem.

Sounds like the fruit is tearing itself from the vine - thus the oozing from the stem-to-fruit connection.

Reduce tension and scoot the fruit forward if you can.
