LOL, ya, we might as well turn this into a lesson for newbies. I have been around way to long to make the mistake I did. When you get a lot of rain, if you dont have much OM, and nitrates and that kind of stuff naturally in the soil, your gonna get yourself in trouble. So when I noticed yellowing of the leaves around the stump, I thought "oh, it'll be ok". Well, I waited at least a week to do something about it. DONT BE THAT STUPID! When your plants are deficient in N, they stop growing from the vine tips. I applied a bunch of nitrogen and peters, The plants greened up, well, some of them, but the vine tips still havent started growing. And now I dont know if they will. The best form of nitrogen that I used was Peters 20-20-20 at a rate of 1 lb per 1000 sq ft. I also applied 0.5 lbs of CaNO3 per 1000 sq ft. That got a bunch of nitrogen in the soil and available right away.

you can't even blink around this kid. it rains all summer; all he does is post pictures of puddles all season then show up with a 900 pounder in the fall.
