I planted my pumpkin plants in the last week of may, when can i expect to be pollinating, or even harvesting? Also i have two big max pumpkins both with 6 leaves each, they look really healthy but seem to be growing really slow. i plan to cross them with an ag. Can i expect anything respectable out of these? Thanks for your help!

I also planted in May. I pollinated my first almost 10 ft down the vine yesterday!

really? my biggest plant only measures at 35 inches long, i would have had a bigger plant but the main snapped and i am in the process of traing a secondary to take over.

Jesse,

Let the new main grow. Females won't likely form until the vine is 6 feet or more anyway. Apply a *LITTLE* Nitrogen to encourage the secondary along if you want to push things a bit. Easy though!

You only need 60-70 days to harvest a respectable noncompetitive fruit. So a set in the first week of August can still make 3-400 lbs by Halloween even with little input from the grower.
