If anyone has a fool proof way of keeping these little pesky creatures out of my garden please help!! My garden is fenced in. These guys are really going to town on my pea plants. Shooting them I would love to do but it's not an option because of where the garden is located and really I never see them in the garden but I catch them scoping it out from the shed next to it. Thank you Farm boy

I use rat traps baited with apple. They do a good job and also trap voles.

Send private email for illegal & unethical foolproof solution that should never be made public.

Rodex! Place in an old can to keep it dry! Works on bigger critters too!

I have a 13lb rodent killing dog; she is good about keeping away from the plants & attacks anything that moves. I have taught her not to kill toads and she listens well. Yesterday I saw some black plastic in my Vegetable garden moving as though something was under it, sure thing it was her traveling under the plastic after something. From mice to ground hogs they don't mess with her! Geta watch dog! Doeski ps.. I have some pics on my diary of her hunting.

We also use those big rat traps to catch chipmunks. We bait it with corn kernels. If they steal those without setting the trap off, use something like PB or apples.
And there's always the old 5 gallon bucket of water trick. You put a string across the top and attach a ruler to it. Then put the bait on the middle of the ruler. Provide a ramp for the critter to walk up to the top of the bucket. Then when they try to walk out on the ruler, they flip, splash, and drown.
I don't think there's a foolproof way to fence them out. You could try burying the fencing so they can't dig under it, but they would probably still just climb over it.

I use a live trap with sunflower seeds and then feed them to my largemouth black bass

Moondog, are you certain that's not the same one 17 times?

Brigitte: a co-worker of mine uses the 5 gallon water trick but instead of the ruler, seeds are placed on top of the water so as to conceal the water, from what he tells me it's been quite effective!
