I have been talking to a lot of local growers recently and it seems a good deal of them experienced the same thing as me and a few even as severly if not worse. I believe it was due to the cool overcast weather we had for a few days, but not real cool still in the 60s. Then on the 3rd day the clouds burned off halfway through the day and the plants got a sudden growth spurt over night and it cooled while they grew so they grew up more than they normally would causing the vines to become top heavy and crack or break completely in half. Not sure about the "exploded" viens though. Maybe expanding cracks? Due to more growth??
