If the lobes on a female flower are somewhat malformed, does it effect the pumpkins growth? Or would it be worthwhile to wait for a better one?

Malformed lobes or misshapen females before pollination could result in malformed pumpkins. If you have other (better) choices, I would concentrate on these ones.
