My pumpkin is forming little splits that run around the stem. been cutting back on ferts and water but am having no luck. will these heal?? should i put some captan mixed with a little water??? the pumpkin is really nice and would hate to loose it>

the splits are actually on the pumpkin.

if your pumpkin is splitting at the stem end its not necessarly going to put you down because thats the thickist part of the fruit you were wise to suspend temporarily any water soluable ferts we tend to splits like yours by putting a fan on the spot and spraying with a good fungicide a couple times the fan helps the crack to dry up and heal its a crap shoot

thanks for the reply. im ok with stem cracks. but on the pumpkin worries me. i'm not sure if i should just cull it now since it is having troubles this early and there are other that have set. so i posted pics just a few minites ago and they should be up soon. please take a look ... thank you
