Since it has been wet constantly im worried about stump rot. I had this once 2 years ago but that was totaly my fault because of watering. I been checking them everyday several times with no problems they look healthy and getting thick.
Should I remove some leaves around them to make for better circulation? Seriously It is hard to see the stumps unless you move a half dozen leaves out of the way.Just some thought for some prevention. I am sure some people will have this problem, hopefully with a few good replys we can minimize it..Thanks

My local mentor has me removing all growth & keeping the crown area clean. Air circulation & visibility are the main concerns.

Afraid I may have blown this, my stump is buried about 3-inches deep in soil. Do I dare uncover now?

I wouldn´t do that Greg. Depending on how long it was buried that way you might have got a lot of roots in that area that might get lost if you uncover the stump. I also buried my stumps and covered the area with some garden fleece, so the crown area is basically clean.
