I noticed on my 940 plant today that my main vine is split about 3 feet away from the stump, the split is 2 1/2 inches long and it has a pretty nice gap in it. This plant total lenght is about 13 feet. Can i please have some suggestions in to what to do with this split. Thanks Brooks

slychit as far as filling the crack you could get some water based caulking and close up the opening ( mainly so you dont have the opening which in itself is not necessarily going to harm the growth, but you need to fill it so borers ,etc, do not have a place to enter ) it may have cracked because a large leaf stem put to much pressure on the vine

I would just dust the crack with some powdered sulfur, and try to keep the area dry. It appears to me that these cracks seem more common in extremely wet seasons. It is my opinion that borers would rather "bore" their own hole than using a existing crack.
