How would you take a cutting from a pumpkin plant? I didn't know you could take cuttings from vegetables.

Let a vine grow into a large window box. Bury the box so as not to stress the vine at the edge. Once it has roots, start cutting the vine gradually until the cutting is on it's own.
I think a cutting from the main would be more desirable than a secondary. Though in theory, this shouldn't matter.
