Anyone find out what it was grown on yet? I remember reading once that Craig only grew one plant a year. If this is still true that makes the 1260 a even greater success if that is possible..............Paul

probably the 885, it's on the 567 Mombert strain, there could be a trend here.

what do you mean PROBABLY the 885? that is based on nothing. dont spread rumors, that's just wrong man, wait till you find out where it came from before you start posting stuff on a message board. some of us take this very seriously, too seriously to deal with rumors.

I was just thinking, I must have gotten mixed up, I thought the 885 was from the 801, oops, my bad. I'm not trying to spread rumors, just making a speckulation. I guess it would be kind of weird that a 576 realitive wasn't orange at all. Sorry, Tom

There goes the proven seed theory. Someone has to prove the seed in the first place and it may as well be you.

You hit the nail on the head, Brian! Everyone talks about the "Silver Bullet".....the Weirs just "found" a new one! I'm still convinced that a "real monster" like that is 33% LUCK!! That behemoth should have been over 400" OTT!!

I guess that's supply & demand. Me personally I don't care for it, nor do I have a urge to shell out $20 & go after one. No don't get me wrong I have given $40 dollars for a seed once , but that was for a fund raising event . Didn't care much about the seed " I think I gave it away" I was just trying to help the fund raising. That is why when I finally get that big one I won't take it to a event where the prize money is equal or a little larger, but in turn I have to surrender my fruit only to recieve at the most 30 seeds back. When the average large fruit can have in excess of 600 seeds, and depending on if you put 1 or 2 seeds in that $10-$15 pac the end result can be over $6,000 for the largest one ,not to forget the 2nd & 3rd place one.Now were talking LARGE dollars. When the time comes I grow that 1000lber & I will, all of you can hold me to this. Just send me your address & I'll take care of the rest..............Paul P.S. That 1000lber when it does come will be weighed in Circleville. I believe in staying true to your roots.

Just a follow up to my last post. I do not mean they are wrong for what they are doing. They are allowed to do whatever they want as long as the participants agree. It's just that my beliefs are just a little different when it comes to distribution of seeds. This is a fun "sport" & sometimes the higher prices of seeds kind of outcast those who want to grow them but are strapped for money...........Paul
