Subject: Vine kink any help?!? (Photos)

the flat part of my 1016 has a kink in it. the bottom has split into to leafing a hole, the top looks like it wants to split. it's been the same for about two days now, does not look like it's getting worse. any Help!?!?

From the pics, I don't think it's anything to worry about. As long as the split on the bottom that you mention is lengthwise, then I wouldn't worry about it. Kinks or bends don't normally cause problems as long as they are supported so they don't snap the vine right off.

Another two cents....
My 713 Kurkowski not only split but a good 75% of it broke right off and it still went on to produce almost 1200 lbs. of fruit in total with the biggest one weighing over 400 lbs. It's amazing what these plants can do!
I'm going thru the same debate with my 582 Hester plant here this year but the kink and split are very minor and I'll let her grow for now. It might be a better choice for me to completely sever the main vine at the 16 inch mark and let the established root system put all of it's energy into the secondary main developing at 12 inches but I don't have the heart to do it.
