My main vine on my 620 Boyton is just at the 32" mark today with an average growth of 4-6" per day., I havent started to burry my main vine yet, I'm going to wait till the secondarys get out at least a foot off the main then i plan on burrying my mains and secondarys right from the stump outward.

Checked my plants last week at the 7th node stage (nodes where the secondaries will emerge), 4 of them were already rooted. I started burying the node points. As soon as a root is exposed to sun or oxygen, it will probably die.

is there a difference between burying nodes or whole vine can you do either or is one perferred over the other.

Craig: The plant will only root down at the nodes. Burying nodes allows roots to grow out of top of the node as well as the bottom. The benefit to burying the rest of the vine is keep the borers out of it, and, I suppose, to help anchor it... Frank
