Lost my 692 Swarts. I think I might have ½ of my 620 Boyton left. So much for my cross that I worked so hard on.

620 is ½ the size the 692 was, and it was started a week earlier than the 692. Maybe I should just till it all over and dream about next year... Good luck all!

Joe you live in the south your first frost date shouldn't be any earlier than oct 1 with the warm weather that you guys enjoy in missouri. I think you could start a seed now and still get a pretty big pumpkin. I know it is upsetting when you lose a plant or a pumpkin but that's what makes this sport fun if it came easy would it be worth it. Best of luck the rest of the season mark

Early season damage often just pisses them off and they get going like gangbusters....G

My corn is even laying down flat.
Tomatoes, just fine...
Anything big that could catch wind last night caught it...
Including my fence around the patch.
I may put something together today in a few pots...

How can something so flat that looks like it just went through the garbage disposal stand back up and shout?

My 692 Swarts is still alive! Matter of fact, my 1st male flower opened today, and my 1st female flower showed up 9 ft out on the main vine! I think I lost 3 leafs total!

The 620 Boyton however still looks like a midget, and has 2 big leafs near the stump that are turning yellow. It is 7 ft. long and has only grown about 7 inches since last week. The 692 grew another foot since the storm.

Confusing times for a new grower like myself, but I am learning a thing or two...
