Hi there , I haven’t been on this site for several years , would like to grow a giant pumpkin again , can you still receive free seeds ? Or is it better to purchase them ?

It's still the same. Bubble the grower and he or she will send you seeds if they have them. I'm a member of a few clubs and have plenty of seeds from 2000 pound pumpkins. Shoot me a email and I'll send you some seeds.

There are so many similar genetic lines to all the top WR contenders you see out there, but they just don't have the last name associated with it. So yes, but I personally would grow one from a large parent and not just the lines alone. An unfamiliar name guy who grew a 1500 pounder in the northeast with a Wolf X Stelts has the same potential as a big name with the same cross.
But remember, the auctions support the clubs, and the clubs' collaboration of ideas help the growers who put out these beasts. I personally like to buy from a club or two at lower prices when no one else bids just to support them.

Luke is right about the auctions! I too buy from certain auctions. A lot of the times I don't even grow the seed or they send extra and these are the seeds I give out. It's cool seeing you want to grow giants again!
I do have my eyes on a couple good seeds this year I'll be looking at during auction time Luke.:)
Ryan, I pulled out a few 2000 plus seeds from last year.:)
