I've logged over 1 Million miles of driving on various company owned & personal vehicles. Yesterday I was driving on I-684 in New York's Westchester County between Somers & Bedford when it happened.
I drove through the most powerful rain cell I've ever had witness to see. Most drivers bailed by setting flashers & pulling over to the shoulder (thank God!). I set flashers, slowed & drove on for fear of getting tail ended.
A well crowned ribbon of fresh asphalt still had nearly an inch of standing water. The rain fell at a rate I cannot describe. Perhaps a solid wall of water from a tidal wave would be the best description. To suggest I could see beyond the hood of my F150 would be lying. Rain so hard I shut the wipers OFF to see better.
Before finishing the 40 mile journey back to here, I drove through another 4 cells of much lesser energy, always finding blue skies & sun in between. 2 more cells tracked over this town between 5 & 7PM. A very strange weather day here in thye Metro area.
Our global weather is changing. How, where, why, & to what extent & result is all subject to debate. But it is changing. It always has been changing.
Personally I don't credit Man with the results that Mother has never had trouble getting herself. Influenced it? Maybe. Caused it? No.

What does that film "day after tomorrow" which I watched yesterday tell us? It´s due to the global warming that there will be sort of a new ice age some day. But the world faced ice ages long before any industry or anything caused by mankind contributed to global warming. Of course we all should do something for the environment, but we can´t stop vulcanic eruptions or anything that changed world climate a long time ago, that´s not in our hands yet.
