Even here in the sandy country of centrail wisconsin the water s starting to sit in the patch and being a big man its hard to get around in the patch when you sink to your knees.lol thanks mark P.s. if you know budda, alia, the any other god of importantance ask if they would stop the rain. mark

Mark, the only budda I know is the bad budda that parked the border between low and high pressure systems right over the top of my patch. Sure makes for some wet and wild weather.

I don't know in my opinion NJ has had a wonderful spring for gardening this year.... A bit of rain a bit of sun. Nicer than the extreme springs of recent past...

well, our comp plants are high and dry, but this weather is pretty gay. What really irritates me the most is having to walk in the mud ALL the time. Temps have been perfect the whole month. I guess we just gotta learn to deal with what we got. Reminds me of 2000 which was the best growing season ever.....except for the 3 minutes of hail we got in August.

We have been having great weather here for May. Getting rain 1 or 2 times a week and temps have been in the mid to upper 80's. Couldn't ask for anything better.

Be careful what we wish for. Despite all our crying about rain here in the Northeast last year, one look at the Topsfield results & the rain might not look so bad.

Well we have already had too much rain. the water is no longer soaking into the soil its just sitting on top and running the soil out of my patch. Right now there are Tornado watches all over the place around 7pm tonight i got fustrated and went out and covered up my small hoop houses with plywood so they wouldnt blow away with the HIGH winds we have been getting.. no more then 15 minutes after doing so it started to downpour hard with mixed HAIL!!
not sure how well the plants are going to like all this water if the rain doesnt stop everything is going to rot i think.

sorry to hear about everybodys rain problems... I had a little rain storm pass by on saturday... not much rain just enough to wet the dirt... but there was a double rainbow - one of them looked like it ended in my patch. It was a beautiful sight. I'd like to think that it was a sign for a good year in my patch. I wish you all see a rainbow as the storms pass by your patches. (hopefully soon) And that you'll all have good luck in your patches.

Rain has pulled out of my area after dumping about 4" this holiday weekend in Canada. Plants are all in good shape at LanTerra as they have all been under cover. Cornerstone plants are a little wet but still alive. Managed to get most of my annuals done on Friday before the rain started. Hoop houses and cold frames are the perfect solution to these spring weather problems.

Rain, rain, rain. Thank goodness. It lasted just as long as the long weekend did. We got 2 very welcome inches of rain. It's been a very dry spring. The good thing is it delayed the planting of my other pumkins out at the farms that don't get babied. After the rain left, the clear, cold skies came and killed lots of stuff with a -2 Sunday night. It looks to be sunny and clear sailing from now on. Alan

rain, clouds, and about 1 hour of sun shine is all I've had for 2 weeks in Northern Minnesota. Plants are growing slowly, people that have been getting sunshine have alot nicer looking plants so far.

Unlike Tom's weather, ours has been quite straight this spring and we could use more rain out west which is odd for this time of the year. Keep those hoophouses and coldframes on for awhile yet.
