I started using fish Emulsion a few days ago. I have every Cat on the Block coming around and pissing on my plants and rooting around. Not to mention my Fat Chocolate Labador is getting in on the rooting and sniffing too. How do I use fish Emulsion without all the animal invaders? Help?

Can I use fish emulsion? Is it worth it? AM I going to fight to save my punkins from critters? Should I just use MG?

Neptune Harvest's fish emulsion is virtually odorless.

The stuff I got isn't quite odorless. I was surprised how little the Neptune's seaweed/fish smelled but it definitely still has the distinct odor of fish. Thankfully the cats around here don't seem too interested....yet.

I had problems with cats 2 years ago. They ate my plants. I had to replant 2 times. The cats were strays I had to catch them and take them to a animal shelter. I had 1 cat last year that like to lay around the plants, but he didn,t bother them so i let him stay. This year no strays around.

I would welcome any cat...the wilder the better to catch my little varments, baby rabbits and keep things in ballance. Cats do not generally do any harm outside of planting their pathegons which they cover up so you do not tramp in it. Not nice going into the house I will admit.

Now if dear kitty attracts a chasing dog and leads him through the patch your dog will trample anything and everything in its path. That would not be good.

I was concerned about black bears and fish but to date have not had the problem. This includes all of last year and to date this year. We do have resident bears. They go where ever they deside to go. They love corn and will ruin a field in a hurry. Hope the do not ever decide to enjoy pumpkin for desert.

Cheese, I think Southern has the right idea. I was getting ready to plant a new lawn a few years back. I had the dirt raked smooth, went in for the night and the next morning when I looked out the window every cat in the neighborhood used my dirt for their cat box (about 15 poop mounds). I declared war on cats that day by putting up an electric fence.
The next morning I looked out and saw only one mountain of dirt mounded up where the cat did its thing. But at a closer look I found where mr. kitty came through the electric fence and was lucky enough to not get shocked, followed his tracks to the mound he made then the funniest sight of all...where mr, kitty was going to leave through the fence. Dirt scattered in all different directions and lots of funny looking erratic foot prints. He got out somehow, but the war was won that moment. I never had a cat problem again.
So go to the pet store and buy yourself a Fido-Shock. When you put it up watch out that your leaves dont touch the wires or your leaf will get cooked too. Good luck.

I had raccoon problems. They dug up my mounds ,and one tomatoe plant. I am going to start chaining a dog close by to keep the little bandits ran off .
