hey all, any one have an idea when it is time to
cull one of the plants on a double planted mound?
i double planted for insurance because i was supposed
to be away for this whole week fishing, but the trip got
cancelled. now i have 6 healthy plants that will need
to be culled to 3 eventually. i just don't want to wait
too long and have them strangle each others root systems.
all advice is greatly apprecitated.
thanks

I like to wait till I'm sure that the vine is not flat, ribbon or just plain screwy. Another factor to me is just the overall feel of the plant. If your first choice is not as fast growing as the one next to it maybe you need to change your mind on what you want to grow. Overall health of the plant is another decision to. You don't want to pull the other plant either, just snip it off at the base and leave the soil undisturbed. Never had problems with the two sets of roots below. Hey it's free compost!

i guess i will wait until they begin to vine and take
the healthiest and better grower of the 2. i was not
sure that if i waited too long there would be a problem
with crowded roots. thanks all for your help.
