as in Green Rye's diary, one of the plants has a double leaf. I also have this on a plant. Are the plants mutant? Could the plants be alright if they are mutant?

Yeah.. adding something from me: why flat /riboon / double vines etc. are always "bad" ? What does it change in develop of pumpkin ? I never had that so I just don't know.

Mutant vines are very hard to deal with... I once had one on a 940 Mombert plant and I was almost unable to train the vine. It just twisted and curved like it wanted to and eventually split wide open on one side. You will most likely not be able to train and bury a mutant vine....

Thanks for asking the question CowD. I was about to post on this but you beat me to it.
I did a site search for information regarding this double leaf phenomenon and did'nt find much. The information I did find seems to suggest that it is cause by too much inbreeding. Although some plants do recover and grow normally they never seem to really put out a monster sized pumpkin.
Unfortunatly the days are numbered for my 318 plant. I cant afford to waste a prime planting location on a plant that has better than average chances of problems due to mutations.
