What are the downfalls, or limiting factors of growing AG pumpkins in Texas. On another forum, someone from Texas was asking how they'd grow down there, so I thought I'd get your thoughts, and relay them to him.

I believe if the person is really interested he or she should be directed to Book II How to Raise Giant Pumpkins.
I think some parts of Texas may make it difficult but if one can control, water, heat and plant health I think the major battles would be won.
I sent seed to an associate in West Texas near San Angelo. He does not feel the total effort required would be worth the effort. His main concern was the shortage of water. He felt that he just did not have it to use on a growing program that was not absolutely needed.
