Whoever sent me seeds needs to tell me their one or two bes seeds that they want to see planted in the test patch. This week is my final exams and I don't have time to email everyone individually. A few special requests and if you already contacted me are already being germinated. I'll email everyone privately with digital pics during the season. I have three farmers and two helpers and a hectare of land this year so I don't think the germans will let their pride drop low enough to have a weed infested patch like Boily had. No disrespect to you Ben but I have time this year and more resources! Nothing we can do about a virus infestation though...
Email me private or post here. Michel

None taken Michel. My adventure in the test patch showed the results of 2 hours a week to 100 plants. No monsters grow by themselves, its all hard work! Will be growing it again with last years experience, and will be combating some of the demons out there...... Hope to do a lot better this time around. Good luck Michel! Ben

Thanks Ben and to all the others that have emailed me in the past 24 hours. Your seeds will all be planted at least to see what kind of shape and color they put out. Everyone can still email me over the next two or three days or so but after that I want to be done with germinating.
I know Ben that it's not easy to grow the pumpkins and take care of weeds and diseases but I have to start the season with a positive outlook of course! It's possible that with all of the ammendments you made at the last minute to your soil was a perfect growing condition for the weeds. I hope you keep working that patch so you can try again next year with at least a bit less weed problems and better results. I would certainly try to deep till that patch to get rid of the virus though!
My 582 Hester here at home is looking awesome even though I had to plant before the first true leaf came out and I gambled wrong. She's still growing in the proper direction regardless and looks awesome.
We have about 22 degrees today and sun and all the plants are looking very good except for one that had a bit of mildew from the week of rain and cool weather. I think it was 713 Kurkowski...
I think that if mother nature can help a bit that we'll have a great year here in Europe and see some new records. There are too many great growers here in Germany to mention but I bet a few of them and MAYBE even me might hit 1000 lbs. this year or at least close.
Won't be able to blame anything on bad seeds for certain! Michel
