Ok so i planted my 1178 and my 620 out in the greenhouse directly in the ground on May 8th. The soil was kinda damp (weve had ALLOT of non stop rain here for the past couple of weeks and i wasnt able to get the ground dry enough.
anyhow the day time high inside the greenhouse with the windows open is around 85-90. Night time it doesnt get lower then 60.
does it take a few days for these plants to re adjust to the new soil conditions and temps. and also have a dark period now?
i'm kinda worried about how much rain weve been getting the soil isnt soaken wet my patch has really good drainage.
thanks
Dave

Did you go to college? Did it take you a while to adjust to your new surroundings, the dorms, a roommate, and the new lifestyle? Ever move into a different house? Took some time to adjust, didn't it?
Plants are the same way. :-)

i went to college and it was great, now i wish i didnt go so i could have the money to buy a nice mustang, and do it all up and make it look good with my cousins, then give it to my cousin for his wedding to use. Plant wilting will go away it takes a couple of days for the plant to adjust, and it all depends on how hot it is and a few other things

Yup I think i found what the problem was. Since they were started in doors the soil temp was kept up around the 80 mark today the was first full day of sun since they were transplanted outdoors and it was the hotest at the time they were wilting t inside temp was around 90. i quickly poped the far window open all the way then covered the top of the greenhouse with a sheet of 4x8 plywood , i mowed the lawn then when i came back an hour later both plants were standing straight up. so yup gonna blame it on the heat and possibly too much sun. live and learn HA HA

last question, what is the ideal temp for inside the greenhouse 80-85? and whats the coldest ( night ) temps they can handle before being stressed?
I guess it all depends to on the climate the pumpking was originally grown in as well eh?

I beleive the general rule of thumb is no more than a 20 degree temperature drop at night.
I try to keep my hoop house under 85 during the day and no lower than 70 at night. Although somtimes it exceeds these limits, but these are the numbers I aim for. Good Luck Dean o
